We will definitely be staying at the waterwheel again, the welcome from Francesca and Mark was warm friendly. The atmosphere was only enhanced by Bailey (cat) and Kernow (dog). The room was very clean and tastefully decorated with a lovely view out over the garden. We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our stay as the food was excellent. I cannot recommend the waterwheel enough.

Wow what a place, set in a wooded valley with a fast running stream flowing past the property. The gardens are well kept with decking, a duck pond and lots of nice ferns. The owners are fantastic people to talk to and will keep you entertained. The room we were in was one of the best Ive stayed in for a small B & B. Breakfast is to a very high standard that you will love.

Went here for my mother's 60'th birthday. It's a lovely, cozy pub that serves delicious food. The staff and very friendly and welcoming and the do a great job of making you feel well looked after. The toilets are quite small but clean as a whistle. They have a fairly large conservatory dining room which would be great for parties or larger gatherings. Oh, and the have an adorable pub dog, a black Labrador named Kernow. Check it out, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

We have just returned from our stay at The Waterwheel Hotel near St Austell. Received a warm welcome from the owner Francesca and all of the staff. Our room was bright, very clean and well presented. All meals, particularly breakfasts were excellent. The gardens are a welcome oasis after a busy day of sightseeing (I even practised my guitar skills)The only issue of our stay would be the early morning traffic noise from the main road which passes the hotel. Don't let that put you off. It's a small price to pay for an otherwise lovely hotel and an ideal base from which to explore the Cornish countryside. We would not hesitate to return again or too recommend the Waterwheel to friends or family.

I have to the Waterwheel twice now and both times have been very memorable! Very relaxing enjoyable evening, and the grounds are just beautiful. (One for quiet chilled evening with NO kids!)
